Choosy Chica
Your string of successful dates (and good humor about the stinky ones) attests to your flexibility -- you're willing to date lots of men. But you know where you draw the line. Funky? Okay. Junkie? No way.
The secret of your relationship success is a solid slate of things you want in a man and knowing which few characteristics are nonnegotiable. That means you can sample a variety of guys, as long as they meet a few basic qualifications -- for instance, you take honesty over hotness, integrity over income. "Everyone should have a few prerequisites for their lover because you have to feel drawn to the guy," says Daylle Deanna Schwartz, author of All Men Are Jerks: Until Proven Otherwise (Adams Media, 1998).
As long as a guy meets those basic criteria, you stay open and don't get overly critical. That's because you know who you are and what you want in life and out of love. "Some women meet a great man, but if he makes less money or weighs less than they do, they won't let themselves fall in love," says Schwartz. But if you're well-adjusted and successful in your own right, his sub-knight-in-shining-armor qualities won't threaten your sense of self. "The best relationships are founded on loving who he is, not what he can do for you," says Schwartz.
